It is strange discoveries. That this group belongs. It is a formation (Franco) Swiss somewhat forgotten it must be said, perhaps for the simple reason that this disc is the only testament of talent ephemeral. But what an album! Just for the introductory title "Hourglass" Mass is said. From the very first seconds. A kind of psychedelic and jazzy instrumental music that would have been a hit among Triangle, Floyd or even gratefull Dead.
Pyranha this is the group composed of Henry Skippy sax, Wy Wyss guitar, the organ Armand Butcher (mainly Hammond), Jacques Ricio on percussion, Beb Anhas on bass and vocals Cristian Scheder when there but also has the composition. This was also a website in memory of the group in which he explained the recording conditions and motivations but unfortunately the site is no longer online. So there is very little info on the web today. But enough to push you to listen.
Only published in France in Epsilone the disk now costs very expensive but I think the cons are not interested to be discovered for free today. There are prescription. Nevertheless, this album is a gem breathtaking. Turn hovering, deep, jazzy, experimental, funky, he does not forget the strange sounds, noises, environments.
"Hourglass" we talked about is the instant groove. Funk, sax, Hammond, soul, everything is good and we Pyranha almost shot remake of "Down By The River" by Neil Young (voice less, of course). "Time 13" is also a sacred piece. It begins with a long and disturbing noises with some arpeggios, then we are witnessing a surge in ultra modern guitar. It wanders and returns, notices, it's time for nearly thirteen minutes.  And then there are the songs sung, or rather spoken. On "Sun", Christian Scheder strikes us incoherent or poetic it depends on nest dissonant guitars. It must be in the mood to enjoy. But the talent is there. On "Church", Gregorian chants prolong delirium. Finally, (yes there are only five titles), "Seagull" receives Claude De Jacques also called Claude Bergerat and former artistic director Barbara (among others) for another monologue on background noises. It is also good, but I prefer when it plays music.

  3. Thanks for all that music. But in the case of that Pyranha album, umfortunatly, the file is corrupt and "mouette" is not opening.
