• The Bottle Kids - это проект певца, гитариста и композитора Эрика Блейкли (Eric Blakley). В этом году он разродился новым альбомом. А ведь совсем недавно Блейкли участвовал в записи сольного альбома Пола Коллинза (Paul Collins) "King Of Power Pop", где успешно выступил в роли ведущего гитариста и бэкграунд-вокалиста. Большую часть своего времени в 2012 г. Эрик провёл с пользой для себя в собственной студии в Остине (Техас), где он работал над "Such A Thrill", своим последним релизом. Несмотря на то, что Блейкли сам сыграл партии всех инструментов, а также самостоятельно осуществил запись и продюсирование альбома, группа The Bottle Kids понадобилась ему для того, чтобы в последущие месяцы представить новые произведения на сцене.
• Являясь по сути проектом одного человека, "Such A Thrill" заставлял Эрика заниматься попеременно то альбомом, то составом Тhe Bottle Kids; но тем не менее проекту были обеспечены высокие процентные ставки по шкале успеха как одному из лучших дебютных альбомов в течении многих месяцев.
• На альбоме царит дух поп-рока, который преподносён в винтажном старом стиле а-ля Тhe Nerves, возвращая в повестку дня идеи, которые проповедывали Paul Collins, Doug Derek и Тhe Hoax. Но на самом деле, здесь есть даже такая броская и бурлящая мелодия, как “Revisit The Past (Who Says You Can’t)”, присутствие которой на диске доставляет слушателю приятные воспоминания о его взрослении и переходе к более крутым записям. Вместе с тем, несмотря на щегольство приверженностью к звучанию старой школы, Тhe Bottle Kids ни в коем случае не ретро-акт. Написание песен изобретательно, аранжировки свежи, да и темы универсальны, в результате чего созданная музыка всегда будет оставаться актуальной.
• Ярко выраженной фанковой составляющей отличаются “Kissing You” и “Where Is Sara Tonight”, хмелящие головокружительные ритмы которых словно врываются через врата новой волны в круг современного дизайна. Если “Yes You Can”, с её вдохновляющими и резкими ритмами ударных, наполнена страстью и вдохновением, то “I’m In Love With You” представляет собой чувственную балладу, а заглавная вещь отличается живой инструментовкой и плавными переходами. Приправленная соулом “Wave Goodbye (There She Goes)” является ещё одним первоклассным номером, а в числе других можно отметить и нежный блюзовый трек “The Most Beautiful Girl In The World”, и мелодии в духе "bristle and bubble" с элементами классического пауэр-попа - “Careful What You Wish For” и “Every Single Teardrop Is A Tidal Wave”. 
• Заполненный незабываемыми находками и мелодиями, "Such A Thrill" имеет ещё одно яркое отличие - его песни радио-ориентированы. Говорят, что Эрик в скором времени соберет воедино полноценную группу, называемую the Bottle Kids, что, конечно, действительно фантастическая новость. "Such A Thrill" - это только начало для чего-то очень особенного, что можно ожидать от этого разносторонне одаренного музыканта из Остина, что в штате Техас.

• The Bottle Kids are the most recent album by Singer/Songwriter, guitarist Eric Blakley. Most recently heard on Paul Collins' King Of Power Pop album as lead guitarist and background vocals, Blakely spent the better part of 2012 in his studio in Austin, Texas concocting "Such A Thrill", his latest offering. Though Blakely played all the instruments, recorded and produced the album entirely by himself, The Bottle Kids will be a band effort when they take the stage to launch the release in the coming months.

• Actually a single-man vehicle driven by Eric Blakely, the Bottle Kids score home run after home run on Such A Thrill, which rates high on the scale as one of the greatest debut albums to sail down the street in many moons.
• Spirited pop rock, dripping with vintage vestiges in the vein of the Nerves, Paul Collins and Doug Derek and the Hoax are the order of the day here. As a matter of fact, there’s even a tune, the catchy and chugging “Revisit The Past (Who Says You Can’t)” included on the disc that shares fond memories of growing up and digging cool records of yore. But despite flaunting an affinity for old school sounds, the Bottle Kids are by no means a retro act. The songwriting is inventive, the arrangements are fresh and the themes are universal, resulting in the kind of fare that will always remain relevant.
• A funky swagger bleeds through the arresting action of “Kissing You” and “Where Is Sara Tonight” hops and bops to a giddy new wave gait circled by contemporary designs. Spurred by punchy drumming and rushing rhythms, “Yes You Can” rocks with passion and intent, while “I’m In Love With You” wheels in as a touching ballad, and the title cut of the disc spins and soars with lively instrumentation and wicked breaks.
Peppered with soul and style, “Wave Goodbye (There She Goes)” serves to be another top-notch ditty on Such A Thrill (Kool Kat Musik), along with the moody bluesy janglefest of “The Most Beautiful Girl In The World” and tunes like “Careful What You Wish For” and “Every Single Teardrop Is A Tidal Wave” bristle and bubble with classic power pop movements.
• Overflowing with never to be forgotten hooks and melodies, Such A Thrill sparkles consistently with radio-oriented songs. Word has it that Eric will soon be putting together a full-fledged band, called the Bottle Kids, of course, which is indeed fantastic news. Such A Thrill is only the beginning of something very special from this multi-talented Austin, Texas based musician.
