• From the heart of town, received rave reviews upon release in 1993 and saw the band define the sound they’d developed over the previous two years. The remastered album now comes with eight additional tracks including the B-sides originally released with the classic singles, Bedlam & You should be ashamed.
• These include the group’s unique take on Neil Sedaka’s Solitaire, & the Merle Haggard classic, Silver Wings. Also included are 4 live tracks recorded on the Morrissey support tour of the US, recorded at the Hollywood Bowl & Madison Square Gardens.
• Gallon Drunk do indeed sound like a bunch of men wasted on a barrel of booze. Led by James Johnston, they cook up a stew of rockabilly, mutant jazz, doom-heavy punk and derelict voodoo blues on From The Heart Of Town.
• Johnston sings like an unholy preacher intoning against billowing sonic storms with flashes of battered beauty and brilliant musicianship. Imagine Nick Cave fronting 16 Horsepower with Johnny Dowd & you're halfway there...
