• Folksinger, guitarist, and songwriter Myles Cohen started his professional music career around 1970. At first he worked with school friend Lenny Solomon, a violinist. They did a number of recordings under the name Myles and Lenny, and won a Juno Award together. Near the end of the '70s, Cohen went solo, completing several singles and a couple of albums.
• Myles Cohen was born and raised in Montreal, Canada. In his early teens, he taught himself to play the guitar so he could work out the songs he wrote. It wasn't long before he was earning spots in local bands. In high school he met Lenny Solomon and the two began to perform together. In 1972, the team signed a recording contract with the GRT label. The deal produced a debut single, "Time to Know Your Friends." After the release, Myles and Lenny toured regularly, playing clubs and folk festivals, opening for major acts like Savoy Brown and the Beach Boys. 
• By 1974, Myles and Lenny had switched to the Columbia Records label. Singles like "Can You Give It All to Me," "Hold on Lovers," and "Don't Come Crying to Me" earned the guys a Juno Award for Most Promising Group in 1975. After a few more recordings and a couple of years, Cohen decided to take his talent solo. He only managed two albums -- Take a Ride With Me and Starting All Over Again -- both done under the Polydor Records label. In the '80s, Cohen left Canada behind and moved to the United States. - Charlotte Dillon

• Chris Gantry (Christopher Cedzich) was born December 29th, 1942 in Queens, New York. He began his career as a singer/songwriter at age fourteen with a recording contract for Paramount Records. He moved to Nashville in 1963. Chris has written more than 1,000 songs some of them as collaborations with Nashville’s best Kris Kristofferson, Mel Tillis, Shel Silverstein, and Eddie Rabbit. Over 100 of his songs were recorded by various artist; Roy Clark, Johnny Cash, Sonny Curtis, Robert Goulet, Wayne Newton, Johnny Lee, Reba McEntire, Billy Walker, Garry Pucket, KD Lang, Yankee Grey, and Rhett Akins, including Dreams of the Everyday Housewife, by Glen Campbell. Dreams of the Everyday Housewife won three M.M.I. awards plus the Millionaires Award for over two million performances. It also won the Nashville Songwriter Award in 1968. Chris recorded five albums for Monument and ABC Dot Records and has written for Sony Music, Warner Chapel Music, and Faverett Music Group. Chris won the Tennessee Williams Playwriting Contest with a collection of one act plays titled Teeth and Nails. He also wrote a collection of published short stories entitled Father Duck Tales. He currently writes for Cool Vibe Publishing in Nashville, Tennessee. Chris continues writing music with some of today's brightest up and coming stars and living the life of a Gypsy Dreamer! Chris is available for performances and motivational engagements for youth organizations and churches.

• This LP, (never released on CD) was barely released even on vinyl (1973). Talk about signing with the wrong company..!! (Jolly Rogers Records aka: Kenny Rogers) STANLEY STEAMER was a ROCKIN band with hints of dramatic production similar to the before mentioned groups, plus a little hint of Ambrosia & Jesus Christ Superstar thrown in there perhaps even a bit of the Elton John album "Friends" as well. Can you imagine a Band so solid & versatile that It could bring the house down, rock style, then turn on a dime with the sweetest orchestration you ever dreamed of, all with incredibly serious, i venture to say even dark lyrics..?
•  This band Pivots on the voice of Holly Vaughn. A singer I had never heard of & now wished I had LONG ago. Holly is capable of belting it out Janis style & can breath sweetness in a verse so soft you could cry. It is SO very clear this girl has been singing A LOT before this album was recorded, the professionalism of ALL the musicians on this record is astounding. I blame the fact that nobody knows who this band is on the Jolly Rogers recording company. Because if this band had signed with a better label, we would all know who they are today & there would have been many more albums to their credit. Fortunately for me, I have just digitally re-mixed a copy for my own use.
